Luxury Travel Ep. 1 Amangiri
I believe luxury travel is eventually where most travellers want to arrive. It’s like you have travelled far enough, and wide enough to know — comfort matters, luxury matters. For a lot of you out there, travel is just a synonym to relaxation. In that case, luxury travel makes more sense.
There’s a ton of travel magazines. But since COVID-19 has changed the world around us, you want to know about newer, safer and more private travel experiences. Here’s why Kate and I have decided to share some of our Travel experiences on a podcast plus we want to inspire future travels and bring positivity.
Our podcast is called Luxury Travel. In the first episode, we take you to the Amangiri Resort in Utah. We believe this may be the best private resort you could find in the US. I stress on ‘private’ a lot here considering that we all want to stay safely while travelling.
Take-aways from Amangiri Resort
Amangiri Resort in Utah is your best lux travel dream coming true. This is quite literally a sanctuary spread across 600 acres of land, wilderness and isolation in Canyon Point, Southern Utah.
Ready for the new world
Amangiri has a health check before you are allowed to get into the main resort. Besides the temperature check, nobody shakes hands and everyone in the staff is wearing a mask. This made us feel safe plus there were only 17 rooms open meaning there were very few people we saw walking around. What stuns you even when first arrive is the rock formations. It looks surreal like you are looking at a picture or a painting.
Kate loved the architecture. She recalled seeing one Aman property in Morocco and she instantly felt at home. Also there’s the ultimate personalization of bespoke adventures and cultural activities at Amangiri. You also notice a bit of native touch which coincides with the tribes that are right next door.
We especially fell for our bedroom. It was a contemporary, cemented, clean line. For me, the bed in a luxury resort is everything. So how comfortable the bed is, it’s one of the best in a resort I have stayed at.
Kate loved the high mid-century ceiling. She also loves to rave about the bathroom and the Aman toiletries. The devil, as they say, is in the detailing. Aman’s body wash, lotions smell heavenly while the bathroom sink is massive.
The balcony view gives you a stunning view of the red and brown rock formation. It is so artistic and out of this world. They have a fireplace so you can lay outside because it gets cold at night, maybe even smores.
Aman spa and the water pavilion
Aman Spa is around 2’322 square meter (25’000 square feet) with a water pavilion, sauna, steam room, cold plunge and outdoor private pavilions.
Kate noticed that there’s this wall that surrounds the whole resort and it has algae growing naturally all over it. God knows how they incorporated this element into the architecture.
The pool here is stunning. Everything is built around that pool and the rock, such a genius who created this. The pool wraps around the giant rock formation. I wish I had a drone because those shots would be unreal.
We were lounging in the pool bed all day. It’s the most comfortable pool bed you will ever lay on. I even took a nap. We got drinks and dinner around the pool — the food was part of the package.
One of the best things about Amangiri is they do a lot of off-the-menu things for you. You explain to them what they want, how you want it cooked and if they have the ingredients, they will cook it for you. I had the salmon both days, the second salmon was wrapped with duck fat. Out of this world.
We were able to stop by Lake Powell right across the street and even visit the Grand Canyon. Making this a good option for those wanting to see other sites along their journey.
